Unibestos Manufacturing: Tyler and Port Allegany

Two documented manufacturing plants and the dates Pittsburgh Corning reported for each.

Historical recordsOctober 2026

Tyler, Texas: July 1962–February 1972

Pittsburgh Corning identified Tyler as a Unibestos manufacturing site throughout its production period. The earlier UNARCO product-line assets were acquired in 1962.

Port Allegany, Pennsylvania: April 1964–February 1972

The company identified Port Allegany as an additional Unibestos manufacturing location beginning April 1, 1964.

What manufacturing dates can unlock

A carton, shipment document or coworker may identify a plant, distributor, year or production batch. Tyler and Port Allegany are separate historical production locations and should not be confused with every Pittsburgh Corning glass-products facility.

Beyond the factory

The manufacturing record connects to delivery, warehouse, contractor and jobsite records. A recalled company name or product can lead to a search for the original purchasing or installation records.
