H&S Historical Evidence Library

Follow the evidence behind the remembered work.

This library begins with recurring industrial materials, equipment and tasks, then preserves the authoritative sources supporting each historical relationship. Workplace-specific product and manufacturer claims remain separate until evidence supports them.

Evidence rule: A historical use is a research lead, not proof that the material was present at a particular workplace or encountered by a particular person.

Manufacturer layer

Separate the equipment maker from the material maker.

A manufacturer name becomes useful only when it is tied to the right object, place and time. The first public manufacturer records use primary asbestos-trust sources and deliberately stop short of workplace-specific exposure conclusions.

Why this matters

Task before label

A person may remember scraping a flange or repacking a valve without remembering a brand. The task can be the better first clue.

Component before manufacturer

Equipment manufacturer, component manufacturer and replacement supplier can be different. We keep those relationships separate.

Time before conclusion

Formulations, suppliers and equipment change. Approximate years belong near the beginning of the investigation.
