A document can be the beginning of the next question.
After identifying an original source, continue by asking what the record supports about a place, product, company, occupation or trust. These pathways connect the document to the corresponding H&S research so the historical context can be explored further.
Research the workplace
Search New York workplace records and regional histories when a source identifies a facility, city or employer.
Research a product or material
Follow remembered product names, materials and equipment into the historical product evidence library.
Research the manufacturer or supplier
Move from a company name in a record to the corresponding H&S company, product and trust research where available.
Research the job or trade
Use job titles and work tasks as memory clues, including historical occupation vocabulary preserved from official source lists.
