Following a remembered exposure

From a name or product to historical evidence

Name / product→Workplace→Years→Work→Historical record

1. Start with the name

Write down the company, product, contractor or equipment name as it was remembered. Historical names and ownership can then be sorted out during the investigation.

2. Describe what you remember

A product name, package, color, texture, equipment, work area or material description can help narrow the historical search.

3. Add the place and years

Even approximate years and a remembered workplace can help distinguish between products, formulations, ownership periods and distribution histories.

4. Compare the memory with the record

Historical documents can then be used to investigate whether the remembered name, product, place and time fit together. Current trust documents separately govern trust procedures.
