Eagle-Picher Historical Product Schedule

Compare five named insulating and finishing cements, their reported manufacturing periods, and identifying work details.

Products named in a historical manufacturer schedule

A historical product schedule preserved in litigation records identifies several different Eagle-Picher cement names and manufacturing periods. These are document-reported dates, not a finding that any particular facility used the product.

Super “66” insulating cement

1930–1971; dry bulk insulating cement with granulated mineral wool and asbestos in the historical schedule.

One-Cote finishing cement

1960–1971; mineral-wool and diatomaceous-earth-based finishing cement; listed with asbestos.

Fireproofing cement

1948–1965; high-temperature cement; schedule identifies asbestos among ingredients.

“43” finishing cement

1944–1971, with small special-order shipments noted in 1972; hard white finish for indoor insulation on heated surfaces.

“43” insulating cement

1935–1949; vermiculite-based insulating cement described for masonry surfaces, especially steel-industry applications.

A separate clue: the “66” mark

A 1932 trademark filing for “66” identifies insulation cement, asbestos cement, insulation blankets, wall board and insulated coverings among listed goods. A trademark classification does not establish the composition of every item sold under a name.

Reconstructing a workday

Did the worker remember a bag labeled “43,” “66,” or a contractor’s name? Was material mixed dry in a bucket, troweled around pipe elbows, or used to finish joints? Was the work done during original construction, a shutdown, or a later repair? The product name, date, task and location should be considered together.
